An example of the Logo Design process at OnlineLogo.com.au Utsonati is a business offering LaStone Therapy treatments. They asked us to design a logo for their business. Here's what they had to say:
"...Utsonati is a native american word meaning 'rattlesnake' - rattlesnakes are a native american symbol for healing. I would like the logo to incorporate aspects of native american art, perhaps including a spiral or feathers. It would be great if the logo could link back to native american art in a modern and stylised way that is eyecatching and distinct in a subtle and gentle way. Linking with the stones or rattlesnake in some aspect would be great and doesn't need to be extreme - more about the concept than the shape or colour or texture necessarily..." We came up with the following three concepts based on the client's brief. ![]() The client was very happy with the concepts: "I have just picked up my emails and seen the logo designs you have sent through. They are just stunning! I need to take some time now to decide which design to choose, so I will get back to you as soon as I have done that. Wanted to let you know straight away how delighted I am, and please pass thiss message on to the designer..." "...I have now had a chance to think more about the logo and wonder if I could see versions of concept 1 in different colours. I really like the way the spiral replaces the 'o' in Concept 1, and I prefer the font used in concept 2. I understsand that the shape of the font used in concept 1 is better for a round-shaped spiral, and wonder if it is possible to replace the 'o in the font used in concept 2 with a coloured spiral..." We made some colour variations for the client: ![]() Thank you very much for the changes you have made. I think I will go with image (c). I am happy with the design but when I printed it out, the red turned out much lighter than what I saw on my computer screen. Could you make the red darker or more earthy and primary? Since all computer monitors vary in their exact colour output, we suggested that the client select a Pantone colour for the red. The client visited their local print shop to view their colour chart, and selected a printed sample that they liked. After supplying us with the code we altered the design to the appropriate shade and send the following image for approval. ![]() Thank you for getting back to me so quickly with the changes. I think that you have done a brilliant job and I am delighted with the results. You have always been willing to answer my questions and communication has been excellent. Many Thanks. |
